HOUSE OF BLAKEWELL
‘Frighteningly tonsilled’ TIME OUT
WINNER Craig Barbour Award for songwriting at SOHO THEATRE
Prize-winning songwriter Harry Blake and the frighteningly tonsilled Alice Keedwell present HOUSE OF BLAKEWELL, a riotous evening of outrageously topical, eighty-three percent original songs. Expect razor sharp lyrics, cracking tunes and a line-up of very special guests.
"Our musical influences are Victorian music hall, opera and a bit of Disney. We sing songs about methodone, bariatric surgery and fantasizing about your partner dying.
I hate glitter, so I really don't want to do the whole cabaret draggy thing, but we'll need an image that maybe hints at that and shows we have a fun anarchic side to us. "
